Wordpress installation failed error?

I found this site when going through Wordpress training on LinkedIn. It simply said my wordpress did not install. Please help.

Also I got this message:

Fatal error: Unknown: Failed opening required ‘C:/Users/ddeut/OneDrive/Desktop/Famous Monkey/Website/Flywheel/Local/resources/extraResources/local-bootstrap.php’ (include_path=‘.:/usr/share/php:/www/wp-content/pear’) in Unknown on line 0

Same problem here but I found a workaround.

I see tons of similar problems to this all the way back to 2017 but no resolution.

Here is the workaround I use.

After you get the “WordPress Installation Failed” do the following:

  1. Start the site anyway.
  2. Click view site
  3. Hopefully you will get the WP Installation screen asking for your language.
  4. Select Language
  5. Setup database per the first screenshot below using exact names and password.
  6. Add your specific Info similar to second screenshot below.

Please let me know if this works. I still don’t know what the real problem is but suspect it is related to permissions. I notice you are using one drive which may also be the issue. I’m certainly no expert on this but thought I would share what I found.

Hi @famousmonkey,

Can you provide a list (or screenshot) of what files are in C:/Users/ddeut/OneDrive/Desktop/Famous Monkey/Website/Flywheel/Local/resources/extraResources?

I’m curious why local-bootstrap.php is not present in that directory.
