WP 5.5 problems, can I install WP 5.4.x?

WP has just released Wordpress 5.5, but one of my plugins has problems with it. Can I not create a Localwp site with Wordpress 5.4.x?

Good question!

There isn’t a way to create brand new sites in Local with older versions of WordPress, but you can do this as a workaround:

  1. Create a new site in Local
  2. Right-click on the site in Local’s sidebar and go to Open Site Shell
  3. Enter and run wp core update --version=5.4.2 --force to downgrade WordPress

FYI, there’s a WP-CLI error in 2.5.0-alpha that errors with this.
