6.3.0 seems to have broken connection to Safari on Mac

Bug Summary

Any attempt to connect to Safari is rejected.

Steps to reproduce

Go to Local > Help > Community. You would expect Safari to put up a tab with the community site, instead the Local log shows something like the following…

{"thread":"main","reason":{},"p":{},"eventId":"fdc6e93e4a9d4b1593da63ee5bb8a42e","level":"warn","message":"Unhandled Rejection.","timestamp":"2022-02-23T16:43:56.757Z"}

Similar log messages appear for any attempt to use the “Open Site” or “Admin” buttons on Local sites.

Environment Info

Running version 6.3.0+5756 of Local in macOS 12.2.1 on an Intel iMac.

Just realized there is a thread about this problem in the support forum. It is clearly a problem not just on Mac, but also Windows.

Just found a solution… the update apparently borks the default browser selection. Go to Local > Preferences > Appearance & Behavior > Browser and reset the default browser. That seems to fix this.

Bug Summary

Neither the admin or open site buttons function in the 6.3.0 update. They literally do nothing now.

Steps to reproduce

Self explanatory to reproduce.

Environment Info

Mac OS 12.2.1

Hi @tomfinley, see the solution above. I merged your post here. This issue will be fixed in the next release of Local; in the meantime, opening Preferences>Appearance & Behavior and choosing a default browser will resolve your issue.

Thanks,
Austin
