Allow Option to Disable Update Notifications

What issue or error are you experiencing?

Every time I open Local by Flywheel, I receive a notification to upgrade to a newer version. However, I am using the current version because AdminerEvo doesn’t work on my system with the newer versions. I want to disable these upgrade notifications.

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

  • Open Local by Flywheel.
  • Observe the notification prompting an upgrade to a newer version.
  • Verify the current version being used is 9.03.

System Details

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Hi @pjpark

I don’t believe we have an option for this currently so I’ve changed this to a Feature Request for now because we do have users such as yourselves who sometimes rely on an older release for certain reasons. I’m double checking with our Devs just to make sure I’m not missing anything but in case it’s not doable others can come here to vote, comment or follow along.

I’m following up to confirm that we don’t have a built-in way to disable these currently. For anyone really motivated to disable these, they could try denying outgoing traffic to the Local update server using a system-level filter like Little Snitch/NetLimiter/GlassWire/Safing. The update URLs are https://cdn.localwp.com/stable/updates.json (production) and https://cdn.localwp.com/beta/updates.json (beta).
