Can I upload a site/pages created in desktop site editor to Wordpress via Local?

Total newbie here. I have previously been creating sites directly via WordPress using the Elementor plugin. But now that I am creating a brand new site, I was hoping to create it using a more efficient tool (a desktop site creator app) and then export the content and upload the finished/exported product directly to WordPress. Is this possible? I am hosting the site with Flywheel, so I know I don’t have access to core WordPress install files (not sure if that makes a difference or not). Any help/guidance would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hi @dylan_25

Once you’ve installed Local, you can spin up a brand new blank WordPress site and get to work. Once you have a site ready that you want to move up to Flywheel you can use the Local Connect feature to push it on over.

If you already have a site you want to import to Local, as long as you have a wp-content folder and sql file you can zip them up together and simply drag and drop them into the app.

Then you can edit and change anything you want on the site, and still use Local Connect when ready to move it to Flywheel.

If you have any other questions or concerns don’t hesitate to reach back out. We are always happy to help! If you’re paying Flywheel for hosting, and you run into any issues with your hosted site or Local Connect you can also reach out to their support directly for assistance.
