Cannot see multisite subsite sub-pages

When trying to view a multisite sub page URL I receive a 404 error:

Not Found

The requested URL was not found on this server.

The home pages of the subsites work:
https://subsitename-co-uk-dev.boxcloud.com

however any pages such as:
https://subsitename-co-uk-dev.boxcloud.com/our-products/

are not viewable and 404

The main multisite installation url is:
https://cd-wp-dev.boxcloud.com

any help is much appreciated!

  • Does this happen for all sites in Local, or just one in particular?
    Just one setup

  • Are you able to create a new, plain WordPress site in Local and access it in a Browser?
    yes

  • Which version of Local is being used?

  • What Operating System (OS) and OS version is being used?

    • For example: macOS Catalina or Windows 10 Professional

  • Attach the Local Log. See this Community Forum post for instructions on how to do so:

fixed it with a switch from apache to nginx

For the record, I’ve found that saving permalink structure is also a fix for this, and the only one that tends to work on public websites for which you cannot switch server software.
