URL Not Found for Sub-sites

Hello,

I could access the main site of a multisite setup at http://wordpress/, but when accessing other sub-sites like http://wordpress/test-10/ , I got the error: “Not Found. The requested URL was not found on this server.”

My setup:

  • Apache PHP 8.3.0
  • DB: MySQL 8.0.16
  • WordPress: 6.2
  • Multisite: subdirectories
  • MacOs Ventura 13.2.1

Apache Error Log:

127.0.0.1 - - [29/Dec/2023:12:06:33 -0800] “GET /test-10/ HTTP/1.0” 404 196
127.0.0.1 - - [29/Dec/2023:12:06:35 -0800] “GET /test-10/ HTTP/1.0” 404 196

This is the second day of my life using a MacBook. Everything seems really different compared to my Windows laptop. Hope to get help from you. Thank you so much.

Best regards.

Hi @sneeit

When you built the site did you utilize steps similar to our guide here?

Yes, I did.

As I described, I can connect to the main site but not the subsites.

To clarify, if I switch to Nginx, the network works, but Apache doesn’t.

Thanks for your support.

I’ve seen this come up in the past but it seems working with Apache on multisites can be tricky and switching to NGINX is usually the resolution. I’ve seen others mention that resaving permalinks can sometimes help:
