Since 8.0 I can’t update Local because every site stops working and it gives a 500 error after a couple of minutes. If I create a new site and move the public folder to this new site, it works as always.
If I rollback to 7.2.0, everything works fine again, fast sites and without timeouts…
I have too many sites to recreate them all one by one. Does anyone have this problem? Do you recommend that I recreate all the sites one by one?
I would like to be able to continue using the new versions of Local. But 8.0 or higher doesn’t work for me without recreate all…
Ask me anything if I can provide hints or help to try to fix this issue.
Thanks for all.

local-lightning-verbose.log doesn’t show errors during testing new versions.
You mentioned having a lot of sites in Local. Do you leave lots of sites Started or running at the same time? When you try to update do you have all of the sites Stopped?
Can you share your full Local Logs with us? There are some different ways to access and share Local Logs. For us to be able to troubleshoot thoroughly, please click the Download Local Logs button from the Support tab in Local. This will generate a zip archive that contains the Local log along with some other diagnostic information to help quickly zero in on any issues that Local is encountering.
Do you utilize the Instant Reload add on? I noticed mention of it in the log and wonder if it could be related to what some users were reporting in this other thread. Another thought is if you have sites that are running Apache. Does toggling to NGINX and back make any difference?

Oh my!! Yeah, I used it in every project. I had BrowserSync in my stack, but Local’s BrowserStack was working better. I test it in 8.1 and the sites are working again! That’s great.

Yes!! It’s working again. I almost always work with NGINX, so I’ve tried switching to Apache and then back to NGINX and the site seems to work fine. That’s a better solution than create the site again.
I remember that it was around the time of the Electron update that it stopped working. Almost 4 months without updates and now I can fix all the sites!
Hi @adammartin! One of our Local Devs is already digging into this as you can see from the other thread but I’m glad that you have some better alternatives for now! Thank you for all of your patience and follow up with us
