Changed local wp site from http to https and now can’t see front or backend

What issue or error are you experiencing?

I am working on a new website which is currently on Local on my mac and I tried to send someone else the URL to have a look but the images weren’t all loading so I read to change in the settings http to https which I did, but now I cant see the front end or backend of the site. Totally clueless how I can get the website back? Is it possible to fix?

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Hey @markweller84

You may need to try clearing the cache and cookies on your browser and then closing your active sessions to start with a clean slate.

How do I clear my browser’s cache?

You may also try utilizing a different browser (Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer if you’re using Chrome for example) or an Incognito window to troubleshoot further.

The easiest way to open an Incognito window is with the keyboard shortcut combination Ctrl-Shift-N (Windows) or Command-Shift-N (macOS). Another way is to click on the menu on the upper right — it’s three vertical dots — and select New Incognito Window from the list.

You might also check if you have any plugins or themes that have cache stored:

If none of that is working, and you just want to go back to HTTP, you can change your Router Mode to Localhost which will effectively force HTTP. (Preferences>Advanced>Router Mode)
