After update MAC OS 15.4 my local site does not start up anymore. Only a white screen. No messages and I can not reach the Wordpress Backend.
System Details
Local Version: 9.2.3
Operating System (OS) and OS version: MAC OS M1 Sequoia 15.4 Safari
The Issue also occurs in other Browsers.
Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.
Are you able to create a new, blank site and access that okay? If you can, then you may want to try reimporting the site getting the errors. The steps would look like this:
Locate the site files on your machine, and save a copy of them to your desktop. If you click Go to Site Folder under your site name it should take you right to where they are located.
Once you have those copied, completely delete the site from Local
Thanks for your Reply. I already did, but no Results. I have made a standard WP site, but als soon as I import the real one (AIO) the Problem occurs. After installing the AIO plugin it is OK, but after the import of the backup from y desktop the site breaks. The site itself as wel as the WP backend are fully white. Up until a few days everything was working fine. I have installed on my older MacBook Flywheel local and the is works fine. So I think it is something with my MAC M1 after the update from MacOS
Ah okay. In that case it might be good to do a full uninstall / reinstall. Here would be the recommended steps:
Make sure any site(s) are backed up and copied or running on your old Mac book so you don’t lose any work. If the site’s won’t start you can still manually go to your Local Sites folder to save their contents.
Fully uninstall Local from your computer with the specific steps for your OS here: Uninstall Local - Local
Install the latest version of Local on this link: Releases - Local
Problem solved. I followed your Instruction and did a full uninstall of the App and the local site. Then reinstalled the App and for my own Safety I took a backup from before the OS update. After that everything is working fine. Thanks for the support.
It sounds like there might be a conflict on the site. Something like a theme or plugin conflict, or a resource leak.
If you click on Site Shell in the Local app, you might try running some commands to see if it gets the site running again. This one below will disable all plugins at once, so you could try that first. If that doesn’t work you might try swapping out the theme.
Thanks again for the support. I deactivated all plugins and after that I could activate them one by one. It seems that Wordfence gives a conflict. When I activate this App the site gets broken. So as a workaround I now don’t activate Wordfence. Then the site and WP backend is working fine.
