Concerns about using previously used WordPress for a new site

I need some knowledgeable answers. I’ve got two sites on one hosting account, one written in WordPress & one in Dreamweaver. I’ve downloaded Local and started to install it and have questions. Do I have to use the Wordpress associated with my wordpress existing account? or to be safe, should I, can I download another Wordpress account to keep the from possibly messing up the existing wordpress account? I’d appreciate a quick email to direct me on this.

Hi @ts6947

Since this is a public forum, I’ve removed the contact details you included in your comment. Since Local is a popular and free product we do not offer priority support (including virtual or phone support).
We are happy to help answer questions and offer guidance here however!

If you import a site into Local, it is effectively a second site and not in any way connected to the one at your host. Since Local Connect only works with Flywheel and WP Engine, you would have to go through a manual migration or manual file transfer to update the hosting site from Local. So having your site on your hosting and in Local at the same time shouldn’t be an issue.

If you have any other questions or concerns don’t hesitate to reach back out. We are always happy to help!

Thanks for the info.
