Duplicator package creation fails on larger file

Hi all,

Just installed Local for Flywheel and like it! I imported an existing website with no problems.

Now I installed Duplicator to export the site so I can upload it to my server (sorry, non-Flywheel). When I create a package, it complains about some larger files. When I continue building the package, it comes back with

Host Build Interrupt
This server cannot complete the build due to setup constraints.

Any idea what the constraints are, and how I can change those?

The runtime details on Duplicator say:

Allowed Runtime: 1:00

PHP Max Execution
Time: 0 (default)
Mode: is dynamic

Serverstatus: 502 -error

Local Router Error
Our apologies for the inconvenience. The Local router is not able to connect to the site you requested.

We suggest you try the following:

Restart Site** - Go to the Local by Flywheel app and restart the site you are attempting to access.
Contact us** - If the issue persists please contact us.

Hi Robin,

Sorry about that!

Is this site using the Custom or Preferred environment?

Also, do you know the approximate size of the file it’s getting stuck on?

Preferred install.

The file is a 9 MB ini file from Pretty Link Lite. It was also hanging on a larger log file, but I took care of that one.

Is there a limit?

Oh wow, it definitely shouldn’t be getting stuck on that.

Can you try the following?

  1. Right-click on the site in Local
  2. Go to Export and go through the process of exporting the site
  3. Re-import the resulting archive from the previous step by dragging and dropping it onto Local’s main window or Dock icon. When going through the import flow, select the Custom environment with PHP 7.1.4 and MySQL 5.6. Note that the Local domain will have to be different.
  4. Attempt the Duplicator package creation on the new Local site

Okay, that was an additional 238 MB

Started the duplication process again, no complaints about file sizes. Ran through the procedure and it worked!

Thanks for that, Clay. By the way, couldn’t I just have upgraded to PHP 7.1.4?

I’m running Local on Windows 10. Everytime I add a SSL certificate and want to trust a site, I need to delete the routes folder. Hope that will be addressed in the near future.

This worked for me as well.

Incidentally I think the Duplicator builds were completing correctly, but Local was just giving the same “Local Router Error” I sometimes get when I update plugins, even though the updates complete correctly.

Hi, I am experiencing the same issue with Duplicator. I tried what @clay said to export and import into local but I encounter a new error " 500 Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request."

I’ve reset Virtual Box without any luck, and I don’t know how to move forward?

To be honest, I did the steps Clay suggested:

I had no problems. Did you import into the existing site in Local, or did you totally drop the site and imported into a new site? The last one is what I did. If that doesn’t work for you, you might want to post a new support ticket.
