Free Migration Plugin That Doesn't Suck?

I’ve built a site on my local laptop using Local, and now I need to migrate it to my client’s hosting.

WP All-In-One used to be my go-to, but despite having a 2GB max upload on my client’s host, it just sits at 0% and does nothing when trying to import.

Updraft, Duplicator, Migrate Guru, none of them work.

Surely there’s gotta be a functional Migration plugin out there that doesn’t hide basic functionality behind a paywall, right? Can anyone advise?

Hey @mon0theist! Who is your client’s host, if you don’t mind sharing?

I don’t know of anything completely free that will get you there, but you can always export your Local site and do a manual migration of files and the database. It’s more work, but it wouldn’t cost you anything but your time.

Some hosts will also offer migration services if you send them the zip of your site but I’m not sure if that’s applicable in your case.
