On Ubuntu 24.04.2 running KDE, the “Site shell” button does nothing. Has anyone figured out how to get it working? I have tried adding a script to my $PATH that mimics gnome-terminal but it made no difference. What worked for you?
What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc
Start Local
Navigate to a site
Click “Site shell”
System Details
Local Version:
Version 9.2.2+6771 and many previous versions.
Are you using the Preferred version when making a site or a Custom version? Checking to see if you’re only using the newest PHP version and whether or not any different PHP versions would work specifically.
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried a Preferred install with the default settings. It did not work. Since the default is using PHP 8.2.23, I also tried updating that same site to PHP 8.3.11. That didn’t work, so I created a new site with 8.3.11 out of the box. Still no go.
Also, I tried running Local from the command line with ./opt/Local/local but there is no output when I click on “Site shell”.
It looks like this topic, like many others, is going to be automatically closed without any other replies. So I’m dropping this workaround that I found in case anyone else finds this post.
Thank you for sharing this @seashell! Apologies for not circling back sooner as I wasn’t able to do any testing yet. I’ll pass this along to the Local Devs as well
