Help, beginner user "unable to provision site" windows10

“uh-oh! unable to provision site

Hi ! I hope someone will be able to help. I can’t create a local site, haven’t found a solution after reading similar topics. I’m a new user and need step by step help…

My hosts file is NOT read only . I’m using Kaspersky and checked the fire wall

I have repeatedly fresh installed both for just my user and for all users

I have run as administrator

I have installed and tried with no programs running

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

System Details

  • Local Version:9.2.8

  • Operating System (OS) and OS version: Édition Windows 10 Professionnel
    Version 22H2

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Hey @margohop!

Being unable to update the Hosts file still seems to indicate some type of permission/security blocker.

If you’ve checked through all of the items on our Windows guide here-

-Then maybe you could try a full uninstall / reinstall now as you might have changed something that’s just not refreshing. Uninstall Local - Local

Hey Nick-B !
Many thanks for your reply! (I’m starting to follow a course to build a
website and I’m afraid I’m falling behind…)
It’s still the same after full uninstall/reinstall Local. I wonder if the
problem might be other, or if I misunderstood something.

This might be worth checking as well @margohop

Thanks for your time @Nick-B, I’ve just tried it, it’s not better..

Thank you for your patience @margohop! I reviewed your local log with one of the Devs and it looks like you might be running into this issue below. You can give the steps in the comment linked a test and see if that finally gets things working here:

Thank you @Nick-B,
I’ve been running this issue, and it worked !
