How do I send my local router's logs to Support

What issue or error are you experiencing?

When I created my new site, I clicked on the WP admin button to start working on it, but an error popped up that told me to reload the page. When that didn’t work, I restarted the local site like the error message told me to, but that also didn’t work. I then found the local routers logs, but I clicked on it and it’s just a bunch of code that I don’t know what to do with. I tried to go on the local community but the pages that told me what to do just said to paste the files onto the discussion, but they had no reply button and/or were closed. I really don’t know what to do at this point because I have no way to fix my problem without sending the local routers logs to support, and the posts aren’t allowing me to send a link or even a reply.

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Hi @Avery

There are some different ways to access and share Local Logs. For us to be able to troubleshoot thoroughly, please click the Download Local Logs button from the Support tab in Local. This will generate a zip archive that contains the Local log along with some other diagnostic information to help quickly zero in on any issues that Local is encountering.

Retrieving Local’s Log File

Once you have this file you can simply drag it over top of the comment box and it should attach.

Its not letting me add any of the files that are in the local-logs folder

You’ll want to make sure what you’re trying to add is a zip file by compressing the contents first.

If you’re still having trouble we can still try and help your original issue.

What is your OS/OS version?

Could you try toggling your Router Mode to Localhost and see if that works?

Preferences>Advanced>Router Mode>Localhost

local-logs.zip (11.2 KB)

I have a Windows 11 pro - version 23H2

I switched the Router Mode to Localhost and the error message still popped up

Hello. It’s been a few days and I was wondering if you could help me with the error message.
Thanks

If you create a new, blank site in Local do you get a 404 error? Or is it just with this site you were working on previously?

It was just with the site I was working on previously - I made a new one just now and it is working, and I tried to open the website for the previous one and now it is working. Thank you for the help!
