I don’t believe memcache and redis are compatible that I’m aware of. I’ll share some feature requests and other comments below that I’ve found:

Local doesn’t have a way to configure redis for a WordPress site – can you describe in a little more detail what you’re trying to do with WordPress in Local?

Yeah, that us under the “Classic” category, which basically means that it relates to when Local used Docker. While it was using Docker, you could treat it as a completely separate VM and install things like you would under an Ubuntu VM. With Lightning, you get a much faster site because the pieces of server software (php,mysql,nginx) are compiled for your specific OS and architecture. For some high traffic sites we use MemCache for storing database results, would love the ability to maintain through Local

Add Object Cache support (Redis or something else)

I’d like to be able to test code on sites that may operate differently when an external object cache is used. Can you add this as a feature so that people can use object cache plugins to connect to it like Redis?
