How to update Local on a Debian-based machine

Hey folks,

I’ve seen a few posts asking about updating Local on a Debian-based machine and thought I might help.

If you are running a Debian-based machine (Debian, Ubuntu, Mint, etc.), download the latest update and run the following (I’ve used the latest update as an example):

sudo dpkg -i local-9.2.2-linux.deb

This should update your version of Local to the latest 9.2.2 release and you won’t lose any of the sites that you have already created.

Let me know if you have any questions.

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.
