Hi @czarpacciotti!

Do you use any security plugins? If not, then there might be some native permissions issues.

We have a Windows Troubleshooting guide below that goes over some common items worth checking. For example, ensure that Local is running as an administrator, that there are no security blockers, and that Local has access to update the Hosts file.

If neither of those narrow the problem down, it could still be a conflict with another plugin so you could try disabling everything and turning them back on one at a time.

As far as the images go, you might have to do some manual search and replace work if you’ve been cloning the site. The steps would be siimilar to those here: Troubleshooting Live Links

thanks @Nick-B for the response but i am yet to go live, its just basic elementor plugins i have installed.

as for the above link, my problem is the right command prompt to use, remember is not a live link. i am good on other troubleshooting steps.

Hi @czarpacciotti - I know you aren’t using Live Links, but the steps for doing a manual search replace in Site Shell will be the same that’s why I shared the information. Now that I think of it though I believe Elementor has a built in search replace function.

You might also have to regenerate CSS:

Regarding the specific permission error, you might start by checking through the items in our Windows guide above if you aren’t using any other plugins. There might be a conflict or security blocker within your device.

thanks alot, i will look into it tomorrow and revert

Ok @Nick-B i followed all the steps meticulously, here’s my findings.

  1. the distortion on the header is a plugin problem. When i disable the Elementskit header and footer this problem disappears. Screenshot by Lightshot. i cant really place it cos i am using same plugin on two of my websites but its only one thats affected.
  2. The images that isnt displaying and is yet to be resolved. it affected two of my sites as i highlighted on the screenshot above. However if i upload other images on the site, it displays no issue but all the images prior to the issue never displays.

So you’re working with Elementor Kits @czarpacciotti? We’ve had users try to get them working with Local before without success because I believe these only work online, which might explain the problem.

ok i get it now. Thanks, i will host it soon. can you send me a link on how to upload my site on a web host.

If you’re going to use a specific migration plugin, or are going to a specific host, they’ll likely have more detailed instructions on how to migrate. It’s tough for us to provide specifics without knowing your method or where you’re going.

If you’re going to do it all manually, you can simply Start your site, select the site name in the left hand side of your app, and then in the drop down click on Export. This will give you a zip export file of your site contents that you can move to your host.
