That log in is only necessary if you’re planning to utilize Live Links or Cloud Backups. Were you attempting to get access to one of those features?
If it’s not updating from the browser to Local there might be something getting in the way like a security application or antivirus. You could try reviewing anything like that on your device or attempting to sign in from a different browser.
