When pushing to WP Engine I see macs default ._ files in the updated files, is there a way to ignore thee files? I have added to the file exclusion filter, along with the DS_Store file
What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc
Change files on a mac and look at files when doing a selective push

Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.
Would you be able to share some screenshots or a short video of the issue? I just want to make sure I understand it clearly so we can replicate and do some testing.
Is this something you just noticed on a specific site as well? Or does it happen on any site?
Thank you @jon_stormbox. Per your other post here is this also the same setup (M1 Mac Mini and my sites are on an external SSD over Thunderbolt/USB4)?
Could you also share a full copy of your Local Logs here? For us to be able to troubleshoot thoroughly, please click the Download Local Logs button from the Support tab in Local. This will generate a zip archive that contains the Local log along with some other diagnostic information to help quickly zero in on any issues that Local is encountering.
Is the behavior you’ve observing that you’re deselecting the files and then they are still getting pushed to the production site anyways?
Or are you just asking if these can somehow be ignored by default like in our current exclusion list?
Are these files that you do want to retain as well but want to ignore? As far as their origin it’s possible they were created when the site was moved to the external drive, or that they came with the original premium theme if it was downloaded from a source site for example.
No, when I push they are all there and I have to deselect them one by one. If I deselect them if they do not push, but it means every time I cannot push all files, I have to Select files so they do not push up to WPE
Here is another example, I just wanted to be able to push up the entire theme and not worry about stupid mac files
Thank you for the clarification @jon_stormbox. We can change your post to a Feature Request, in order to look at adding an automatic ignore option for files like this in the future. It wouldn’t be something we’d be able to hot fix or provide a different workaround for at this time other than using the file deselect to ensure they don’t get included. Unless you’re able to track them down on the device/external storage and remove them completely.
