What issue or error are you experiencing?
After updating to the latest version, I’m encountering an “invalid zip file” error when trying to create a new site. The ZIP file I’m using contains only the wp-content
folder and the SQL database, as recommended. Before the update, everything worked fine without any issues.
Both myself and a colleague are experiencing the same issue, so it appears to be a problem affecting multiple users. He is using a mac I am using windows.
Could you please assist in resolving this? It seems like there might be a bug or compatibility issue introduced in the new version.
Thank you for your help!
What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc
- Update to the latest version of local.
- Create a new site using a ZIP file containing the
wp-content
folder and a SQL database dump.
Attempt to extract the ZIP file during the site creation process.
The error “invalid zip file” appears, and the files are deleted in the process.

Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.
