Just Updated and cant log out of Local

I just set up a new partner account with Flywheel so I could push my site from local to the host. When I go to connect to Flywheel it is still connected to an old account I used to manage. I am concerned that I can still pull those sites to my local.

In the Connect to Flywheel section located on the left-hand side of the Local interface, there is no longer a link to log out. I don’t want to delete Local and reinstall if I don’t have to.

Any help?

  • I thought that maybe if I click on the create a new site from the push menu it would at least register that one on local. No go. Still only shows the old sites from the old account.

  • I ended up uninstalling Local from my computer to see if reinstalling would disconnect the account. No go. I am still only able to see the sites of an old account.

  • in a last-ditch attempt, I found an older version of Local. I uninstalled the updated version and installed the old version. It then gave me the username in the top right corner and let me log out.

Same problem and it’s killing me. I manage three accounts. I need the ability to log in and log out of accounts. This seems intentional - how can such a major part of the UI be removed?!

I can see this being a huge issue for me to for the same reason.

Hey @ctuttle and @constellate

I’m really sorry about the hassle with this. It looks like this link went missing as we have been re-shuffling the UI in preparation for the Local Teams version. This new version will have the concept of “Workspaces” which is where that logout link will be.

As a temporary work-around, here’s how you can logout within Local:

  1. Delete the fly-api.json file at the following location:
    • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Local by Flywheel/fly-api.json
    • Windows: %AppData%\Local by Flywheel\fly-api.json
  2. Restart Local

Let me know if you run into any issues, or have any other questions!
