Live link gives 404

Of course, I assure you that I always activate the tunnel before I try to access the live link.

@KlouD Strange, I can’t reproduce this since our recent changes. Please could you log out and in (‘KD’ profile icon, logout, then log in again), and try with a new site?

@nickc Tried but nothing changed.

Thanks for trying that, @KlouD. I still can’t reproduce this, but it could be network-specific. If your machine cannot be reached from the open internet via Local’s tunnel, it will 404.

Are you running firewalls or security software that prevent incoming connections?

Do you see the same result from other Wi-Fi or mobile networks?

@nickc

I mainly work in the office with the pc connected to the ethernet and it’s plausible that there are active firewalls and security software that are blocking the tunnel and causing the 404 but I had the same problem on my laptop at home so it could be another thing, maybe I messed with the wrong files? I’ll try again on my laptop with different networks one of these days just to be sure.

@nickc Update: I finally had the chance to test from my personal laptop at home, and the Live Link worked! So it was indeed a firewall/security software issue on my work machine blocking the tunnel. The previous failure on my laptop was just an unfortunate coincidence that led me to believe it was something else entirely. While I was using the Live Link it deactivated itself after a few minutes of use, but re-enabling it immediately worked fine with no issues.

Thanks for your patience and help!

@KlouD Great to hear, thanks so much for re-testing and for the update here!

Just wanted to say Live links are much much better for me and I have not changed anything since my last message on Apr 16th. Thanks!

Live links have been working well for me, too. Thanks guys!
