Local app doesn't connect with online logged-in session

Issue Summary

Each time I proceed to connect the Local Windows app with my already logged in account online I receive the following message. Note that I am already logged in!


Troubleshooting Questions

  • Does this happen for all sites in Local, or just one in particular?
    I haven’t set any Wordpress site yet.

  • Are you able to create a new, plain WordPress site in Local and access it in a Browser?
    I just tried and I’m getting several error messages and issue. Please take a look in the attached log files and this screenshot



I’m not getting errors when trying to log in the Local account online (I can login using my email address and password, or using magic link) but the issue appears when the Windows app tries to access the already opened session in the browser, it won’t connect.

  • Which version of Local is being used?

  • What Operating System (OS) and OS version is being used?
    Windows 10 Enterprise

Security Reminder

Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Do you have any antivirus, security, or firewall applications that could be blocking Local? This is fairly common for Windows users so you may need to review any blocks or settings before proceeding.
