Local Backup Add-on with Dropbox 500 error

@Nick-B ,
Same version of the add on I believe?

Okay thank you for checking @ptbalfour! One last thing here. If you’re still on Local v9.1 could you update to our latest release and restart?

Hey there!

I’m experiencing the same issue when trying to connect Dropbox. It happens on the LocalWP site: Local Hub.

When I click Connect next to Dropbox, I am redirected to Dropbox. I select my username, but after that, I am redirected back and see a 500 error.

I’m not able to connect to dropbox for backup option. I thoroughly checked dropbox account setting for third party app permissions, Local from WP Engine is clearly listed there with all permissions, but each time I click backup “connect” button in my Localwp account I get an error all the time: 500 Server Error

Hello @treffendharm @bdom @DesignSmiths @mindLARVA and @ptbalfour!

I’ve merged all of your posts here. After sharing your details with our Local Devs we’ve identified this as a bug. For some transparency, it looks like an upstream issue with Dropbox but our team has narrowed down the root cause and is working on a fix. We’ll notify everyone when we have that ready to try! Thank you for your patience and communication as always.

We just rolled out a fix for the 500 error.

If you previously saw a 500 error when trying to connect your Local account to Dropbox, please try again.

If you’re currently logged in and unable to make backups to Dropbox in Local, you could try disconnecting and reconnecting Dropbox in your Local account.

I didn’t see a 500 error while having the issue. I didn’t disconnect Dropbox. However when I logged into Local I’ve been able to make backups of two sites so far.

Seems to be working for me again on Dropbox. Good job everyone!
