What issue or error are you experiencing?
I’ve been using both Google Drive and Dropbox Cloud Backup on my 1st and 2nd Mac machines with no problem.
But when I tried to use it on a freshly installed new Mac, neither backing up nor creating a site from a backup works.
The existing backups do show up, but when I try to make a new backup, it fails and says “Cloud Backup failed.”
When I try to create a site from an existing backup, I am able to select one and start a site with it, but the restoration never completes. The content of the /app folder is empty and (probably as a result) the site comes up as a 403 Forbidden error page.
I have tried disconnecting/reconnecting both Google Drive and Dropbox, deleting and reinstalling the Cloud Backup extension, as well as Local itself. Even factory resetting the Mac hasn’t solved the issue.
What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc
- Connect Google Drive and Dropbox to Cloud Backup extension on machine #1.
- Backup a site.
- Install Local and Cloud Backup extension on machine #2. (#3 in my case)
- Log into Local account and try to restore the backup(fails), or start a new blank site and attempt to make a new backup(fails).

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.
