Local dev site keeps resetting .local domain to localhost

For some reason one of my .local sites with Site domains on still reverts to using Localhost. I have tried to switch Router mode between “Site domains” and “Localhost” but this dev site ignores it and go to the localhost:XXXX address anyway. I want to use the Site domain name, not the Localhost function.

How can I fix this issue?

I fixed it myself by switching to another version of PHP. IT seems to have corrected this issue for some reason.
