I’ve been running a version of Local from January (1.4?) and mistakenly updated to the latest version. Now when trying to get to a site, I get the error in the browser that the site can’t be reached. I see there is a similar issue with High Sierra, but I am in El Capitain. Everything was working perfectly up until the update.
Sorry for the trouble!
Can you please try opening Local then going to Help » Restart Local’s Machine?
Hello Clay! Thanks for the speedy response. I am not sure what I did, but I opened the Virtual Box double clicked on Local, which was running, another dialog came up and I clicked something, and it appears to be working now. I am able to get to existing sites and create new ones. But in general, is Help >> Restart Local a good way to begin troubleshooting?
Glad to hear it’s working!
I’d say so! It’s a good way to shake out common VirtualBox issues
I’m having a problem getting it to work on El Capitan as well. Is there an older version that works with this system I can use? When I follow the above instructions the option of Help>Restart Local Machine doesn’t exist.
