Lost Databases

Issue Summary

Several Wordpress installation were deleted by mistake. The files in the Local Sites>WPress Site>app, conf, logs and all the wordpress files below are still there. How can I reconect to the databases? Is it possible? If so what tools or how can I do it?

Troubleshooting Questions

  • This happened in Local on my machine.

  • I can create a new, plain WordPress site in Local but not sure how to access any of the existing files or import them to the new instance of WPress

Replication

I can not and do not want to replicate this.
Unfortunately I do not have any backups.

System Details

  • Which version of Local is being used? - Version 6.1.4+5521

  • What Operating System (OS) and OS version is being used? - Windows 10

  • Attach the Local Log. I do not have any logs available.

Security Reminder

Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

If there isn’t a sql folder in those site files, then there might not be a way to restore the sites.

You might try following the steps outlined in the “Restoring From Only Local Site files” section of this help doc:
