Mailpit and AdminerEvo stopped working after the update

I tried to reinstall Local, after which I started to see the warning “Missing Mailpit v1.12”, but after restarting the site mailpit simply does not start. After restarting Local, everything happens again.

Then I wanted to remove mailpit from the “~/Library/Application Support/Local/lightning-services” folder, but there is no Local folder in Application Support at all.

System Details

  • Local Version: 9.0.5

  • Operating System (OS) and OS version: Mac M1

From the Log, it almost seems like Local found the lightning services, and then during the last restart, Local couldn’t find them.

I’m also seeing errors that feel like there are still processes running in the background, for example:

{"class":"Process","level":"warn","message":"[15-Jul-2024 17:05:58] ERROR: Another FPM instance seems to already listen on %%site.runData%%/php/php-fpm.socket","process":"phpFpm","thread":"main","timestamp":"2024-07-15T14:05:58.896Z"}
{"class":"Process","level":"warn","message":"[15-Jul-2024 17:05:58] ERROR: FPM initialization failed","process":"phpFpm","thread":"main","timestamp":"2024-07-15T14:05:58.896Z"}

If you quit Local again, restart, and then try re-installing Local and creating a new, plain site, does that finish successfully?

No, it didn’t help.

The site was created, launched once, and then threw an error when trying to restart.

I restarted Local, launched the site, the site launched with the “Missing Mailpit” warning, and when I tried to stop it, it just froze.

I’m having the same problem. AdminerEvo isn’t working.

Hey @StevieB86 and @mimic89

If you downgrade to a previous version of Local do you regain any functionality?

Tried downgrading to 9.0.2, nothing happened.

Then to 8.3.2, same thing.

And then to 7.2.1. Here Adminer and Mailpit started working, but after updating to 9.0.5 only Adminer continues to work, but Mailpit has the same problem.

Hi @mimic89! Thank you for all of that testing. Could you share an update Local Log so we can compare it and see what stands out? Keep us posted and we’d be happy to help further!

Yes of course, here are the logs

In order to refresh here and start with a clean slate could you give the below troubleshooting steps a try?

  • Export any sites that you have on Local and save them to a folder somewhere on your computer: Backup a Local Site - Local

  • Fully uninstall Local from your computer: Uninstall Local - Local

  • Install the latest version of Local on this link: Releases - Local

  • Once installed, please restart the computer.

  • When the computer is restarted and turned on, close any applications that automatically run in the background (AntiVirus, Firewall, and other Developer applications included).

  • Check and see if the issue still persists. If so, please provide us with an updated log: Retrieve Local’s Log File - Local

@StevieB86 if you’re still having the issue could you tell us what OS/OS version you’re on?

Thank you very much for your help, it worked. The problem was in the “~/Library/Application Support/Local” folder. I couldn’t find it in Finder, I don’t know why. I found the folder only through Spotlight.
