Missing hosts entry after software update

Hi Local,

I have been using your software for the last fortnight and it has been working great. However after a recent Mac OS software update, I am receiving the missing hosts entry error. I have followed the ‘fix it’ step that local provides giving the app administrator permissions to update but nothing changes. I only have one site so it doesn’t seem to be the same issue that others are facing with their second site.

The contents of my hosts file (I am not using any external host management apps)

##
# Host Database
#
# localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
# when the system is booting. Do not change this entry.
##
127.0.0.1	localhost
255.255.255.255	broadcasthost
::1             localhost

I can make the change manually but thought should be reported.

Thanks,
Chris

Hey Chris,

Does this issue persist after restart the application (sorry, it’s worth asking )?

If so, can you try clicking Fix It then immediately go to Help » Reveal Local’s Log and provide the most recent log entries?

Hi Clay,

No problem - Yes it persists both after restarting the application and the computer.

Here are the logs after using fix it

Wow, that’s weird application path.

Can you try quitting Local and then move Local by Flywheel.app to /Applications and try running it from there?

Hi Clay,

Moved the app and still didn’t work initially but after restarting the computer, the app ‘fix it’ feature worked fine.

Thanks for the help, quick replies and great app!

Chris
