I downloaded Local in August to work on a new WP sports theme I had purchased from Themeforest. I was able to successfully download the theme into Local. However, I was unable to work on the new theme at the time as I was busy with other things. When I recently opened Local in my web browser it asked me if I wanted to update to the latest version which I did and when I opened the Local app after the update I could not locate the Themeforest WP sports theme I had downloaded. When I try to create a site by downloading the themeforest sip file I get the message ‘Error Importing Site’
What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc
Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.
I’m a little confused by your description. Is this a WordPress theme or a full site you’re trying to import? If you just have a theme file, you’ll want to import that within the WordPress admin dashboard in the Theme section.
Feel free to include some screenshots or a short video if you’re still having trouble.
Sorry I mean are you able to use that to be able to see where your sites are nested. Like here for example on mine I can see where my Local Sites folder is and then my Backup-Test site and then the files within.
What I’m trying to help see is if you navigate that way do you see your original site’s files in there? If you do then you can bundle it and reimport it into Local. If you have another copy of the site though you can try reimporting that with the manual steps I shared above.
