Plugin and Theme installs all fail with router error

Hi, Just installed Local on Windows 10 64bit. Install all went well and I can get to the Admin of my first site ( Preferred - all defaul;ts ).
However when I try and install a Theme or a Plugin it fails giving a Router error.

Installation failed: Local Router Error blockquote { margin: 10% 25%; width: 50%; } body {font-family: arial,sans-serif} img { border:none; } Local Router Error Our apologies for the inconvenience. The Local router is not able to connect to the site you requested. We suggest you try the following: Restart Site - Go to the Local by Flywheel app and restart the site you are attempting to access. Yes I have tried stopping and restarting the site and Local and the PC.
I see this problem has cropped up before but non of those posts received any responses. So I’m hoping one more try might elicit some sort of solution.

Cheers
Alan

Hi Alan,

Sorry for the router error! I know these can be frustrating.

What version of Local are you running? Also, what Environment and Environment Version is the site running?

Hi, Thanks for the reply.
I am just testing Local after watching a video about it by WPTuts ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iaL_NjrjN8 )
I downloaded the current version from your website and selected all default options to create my first test site.
So Local V2.2.4
Preferred 1.1 ( This has a green Change link next to it, but this doesn’t do anything )
PC is Windows 10 64bit. 8GB ram, 500GB disk, i5 cpu. No space or resource issues.
The site seems to work ok. Starts/stops ok. Its just that when I try and add a plugin or a new theme that it seems to time out and give the router error. I notice that the plugin does seem to have been installed though, but not sure how reliable it is.
Another issue I notice is that while the site is fast and responsive initially ( both the WP admin panel and the site ) but after adding a couple of Plugins then everything slows down dramtically. So much so that it would be much faster using a remote WP installation.

I assume there are config options to improve the virtualbox performance but not sure where they are on Local.

Cheers
Alan

Just tried to update the plugins and they fail giving this error on the WP admin screen.
