Pull from WP Engine does not delete files

What issue or error are you experiencing?

If any plugin folders are removed from WP Engine, when I go to Local and do Pull, it shows the list of files and folders to be removed. Then when I press “Pull from WP Engine” button a success message is shown, however none of the folders were deleted on my Local.

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Hello @anton2 -

I just tried to reproduce your error but when I deleted a plugin on WP Engine and then did a pull into Local, those plugins were deleted. Did you include the database when you did a pull?

Is there a specific plugin you are trying to delete or is it all of them?

Are you seeing any errors with Local Connect?

Thank you!

Sam

Hello @sambrockway

I just tried doing the same on a PC and it didn’t delete the plugins on Local Connect, same as on Mac.

I did include the DB into the pull.

There is a number of plugins which I removed from WP Engine but they still existed on my Local. The pull doesn’t remove them for me.

There are no errors, only a success message.

Update: The pull does delete the files in the plugin folder only when MagicSync is disabled, however it doesn’t remove the folders because they have readonly permissions.

Hi @anton2 -

I see. To clarify, did this solve your problem or did you still need help here?

Thank you for sharing that having MagicSync disabled does have the desired impact of deleting the folders.
