I’m receiving a red banner saying “Uh-oh! We ran into an issue pulling from WP Engine” every time I try to pull and neither the database nor files are pulled
What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc
Try pulling the website - I’m not doing anything special, the website was already connected to my WP Engine account and working fine for weeks until maybe a week or two ago when every time I would try and pull it would throw the error. However, pushing file changes still works.
System Details
Local Version: 9.0.5
Operating System (OS) and OS version: Mac Sonoma 14.5
Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.
Do you normally use the same email in WPE that you have associated with your user here in the Forums? I checked that email but it doesn’t look like the account is set up on the WPE side.
Does the timing from a week or two ago coincide with an update of your Local app or some other update on your machine? If you think it might be related to the Local update does downgrading get things running again?
Nope nothing special I WFH so there isn’t an elaborate firewall or VPN that would affect the connection - the workaround using a backup worked, however, downgrading versions didn’t (or maybe I didn’t try an old enough version) I tried both 9.0.4 and 9.0.1
Also, I do have an M1 chip - not sure if I specified that before or if it makes a difference
I’m glad the direct import works as an alternative. You also mentioned that pushing still works without any problems? It’s just pulling?
The M1 chip shouldn’t be an issue if you’ve been using that for awhile. If it was a new machine and you’re using the Apple Silicon build we’d just make sure that you have Rosetta installed, but if that was a problem you wouldn’t even be able to create, start sites.
It look like WPE has some SSH Gateway issue going on at the moment, which would likely impact Local Connect functionality as well:
The test would be to see if you can connect to any of your sites that aren’t working for Local Connect via SSH. If you’re unable to do so then that’s likely the cause. You could try reaching out to WPE support directly as well to see if your install is impacted by the outage.
