Stuck in maintenance mode after updating WP plugin with Local Instant Reload enabled

Bug Summary

When you update a plugin and have instant reload enabled in Local, WordPress gets stuck in maintenance mode.

Steps to reproduce

  • Enable Instant Reload in Local
  • Login to your wp-admin
  • Update a plugin
  • Admin page reloads and shows the maintenance mode page

Describe your environment.

  • What Operating System are you using?
    macOS Catalina 10.15.7

  • What versions of site software (Nginx, Apache, PHP, MySQL) is used?
    Nginx, PHP 7.4.1, MySQL 8.0.16

  • What version of Local is installed?

Local 6.1.8+5621

For those that are stuck with this issue. You can delete the .maintenance file from your site’s WP root folder to get the site out of maintenance mode.
