Stuck on "Checking System" - invalid character '\x00'

Hello,

I’ve been putting off updating as I’ve ran into issues when updating right away. I figured it’s been long enough and tried updating to 2.4.3, however now It is stuck at “Checking System…”

What would be the quickest way to get back up and running?

System: Windows 10
Default local by flywheel drive set to D:/projects/

Clean log file attached with issue. Error looks like it is:

EDIT: Updated to 2.4.4, same issue.

Sorry I don’t have a solution, but I strongly advice you to change the title of your thread (click on the edit icon next to it) to make clear the latest version 2.4.4 did not remedy the issue.

I found the solution:

Issue is due to a corrupt config.json file as discussed here: Hangs on Checking System

removing it, the local-by-flywheel vm from virtualbox and re-initializing those fixed the issue. Maybe have a check on that file for future versions?
