Trying to move sites default folder pissue

What issue or error are you experiencing?

Windows cannot find ‘C:\Users[username]\Local Sites\myweb’. Make sure you’ve typed the name correctly, then try again.

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

  1. Moved Local Sites Folder from c:\Users[username]\Local Sites to c:\Users[username]\Dropbox\Local Sites so I can backup my files
  2. Opened wplocal > Preferences > New site defaults > Sites path: c:\Users[username]\Dropbox\Local Sites
  3. Restarted
  4. Start a Local site
  5. Click “Go to site folder”

How do I move the existing sites to the new sites location as well?

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Hi @sjw9999

My recommendation would be to just allow Local to create sites on your default drive, and then if you want to back up sites to Dropbox, you can use our Cloud Backups Add-On, which works with Google and Dropbox.

Or, you can simply export your sites with Local’s native export feature and then manually move the zips to Dropbox to save them.
