Uh-no could not update hosts file (mac M3 newst version)

Hey
I’m having issues to create a web via local wp (added screenshots to show the error)
I consulted ChatGPT
i tried:
Check Compatibility
Run as Administrator
Reinstall Local
Check for Updates
Disable Antivirus/Firewall
i also tried to change manually the host file - i checked permission and flush the DNS cache
nothing seems to work

i would appreciate any help - happy to pay for any help to solve this case

Hi, @Mendy_Illouz. Please could you try:

1. Quitting Local and closing the /etc/hosts file if it’s still open.

2. Opening a terminal and entering this command:

   softwareupdate --install-rosetta --agree-to-license
   

3. Opening Local again.

If that doesn’t work, please can you share your Local logs?

@nickc @Mendy_Illouz just wanted to pop in to say that I encountered the same errors on trying to set up my first Local site (also on an M3), and the suggestion to install Rosetta via Terminal seems to have fixed this for me!

Upon re-opening Local and trying to add a new site, I got this notification:

After entering my username/password to allow it everything seemed to go smoothly.
