Uh-oh! Unable to provision site - Can't Connect to local MySql server

I just installed Local and tried to create a new test site. Got the following error as shown in the image. I have several test sites running fine on my localhost. I can access MySQL. I have Ubuntu 18.04 LTS.

I had the same error. I’m using windows and in my case mysql server was not running. I tried running the service and use cmd to test it but it still gave me the same error.
Can you manually open the path in which mysqld exists using terminal and pass the same command that localhost is trying to pass?

Hi, here’s a few screeshots. It seems like a permission problem, however, I’m not sure how to fix it. Any idea?
