Uh-oh! We ran into an issue when pushing to WP Engine.

Pushing to WP engine only works when database is excluded. When trying to push database to WP Engine server I get: Uh-oh! We ran into an issue when pushing to WP Engine.

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Hey @aGuyNamedJim! Is there anything unique about the database as far as is it overly large or does it include any tables with a ton of rows?

As a workaround for now you can try using WPE’s free migration plugin which will work going from Local to the platform:

There’s nothing in the Db that I would consider overly large. My site has at least 100 pages, so unless Local WP is made for small websites, I don’t see an issue.

Is there anything unique about your network connection @aGuyNamedJim? Do you use a VPN, network proxy, office/employer network, etc

Were you able to test the migration workaround?

Resolved. I will use the WP Engine Site Migration solution from now on considering the fact that Local WP rarely works for me to Push websites.

Just an FYI that the migration plugin is a good workaround for pushing, but it can’t pull. For that you would have to download a backup and direct import as an alternative.

If you’re having consistent trouble on WPE you could reach out to their support and see if there are any server issues. For example can you connect via SSH/SFTP to these installs okay? If that’s spotty as well then it could be an issue elsewhere.

Otherwise it might be something like a network connectivity issue. Is there anything unique about your network like I mentioned? Is your network and/or device issued by an employer?

Do you utilize any other developer applications or database tools?
