Unable to login to Local via link in Localwp

What issue or error are you experiencing?

Unable to log into local from link on local desktop.
Receive message

Safari can’t open the page “http://localhost:49003/callback” The error is "Navigation failed because the request was for an HTTP URL with HTTPS-Only enabled
(WebKitErrorDomain:305


What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

tried logon from LocalWP desktop
tried to enable live link and link within

same error all attempts

shut down local and Mac then retried, no change

System Details

  • Local Version: Version 9.1.1+6738

  • Operating System (OS) and OS version: Ventura 13.7.2 (22H313)

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

I eventually found the cause of this problem. It got so bad I couldn’t access any websites.
The problem is a Safari setting in version 18.3

Safari Settings, Security tab, they added a feature Non-secure site connections
Turning this on is what caused all the problems.
