Unable to start website

Hi,

since a moment I’m unable to launch a website, it’s stuck on “starting”.
I try to uninstal and install again, and import website.
If I switch the php version it’s stucks on “provisioning”.

Thanks

Hi, @murdok. Please could you share the info we ask for in the post template?

Hi,

yes of course, it’s the last version of local Version 9.2.0+6762 on Windows 10 up to date.
The log in attachment.

Thanks for your logs, @murdok. They show that MySQL is unable to start, possibly due to a data corruption issue.

Perhaps you could try importing your site from the Local Sites folder? (If you’ve already tried this, be sure to try it with both MySQL 5 and a newer version like 8.0.16.)

Thanks for the reply, I made this but it’s stucks in
image (mysql 8.0.16)

Thanks for trying that!

How big is the database? You may have to wait a little longer if it’s particularly large.

If you’ve waited a significant time, please could you share your logs again in case that reveals more info?

There are the databases size

Yes i waited a long time.
There is the logs thanks
local-lightning.log (5.8 KB)

Thanks for the size info and updated logs, @murdok.

The logs include lines that suggest Local is not able to run normally on your machine due to permissions errors:

"class":"HostsFileService","error":{},"exitCode":{},"level":"error","message":"Could not update hosts.",

"message":"Unable to import site.","stack":"Error: EPERM: operation not permitted, open 'I:\\Local Sites\\Annecy Mountains 2025\\app\\public\\wp-config.php'\n

We sometimes see this due to security or antivirus software. You could try checking the Windows troubleshooting steps here:

thanks for the help, it’s seems to be ok with a manual import.

Hi,

this morning I wanted to work on Local and again it goes round in circles on “starting”.

Thanks

Did you have a chance to go through this guide shared above @murdok? Some common Windows issues to check would be to make sure you’re running Local as an admin user, that you don’t have any security blockers, and that Local has access to update your Hosts file.

yes I had read it and it is launched as administrator

Have you checked if your Hosts File is set to Read Only?

Do you have any antivirus, security, or firewall applications that could be blocking Local?

yes I checked the read only on the hosts file, put the application in whitelist on avast and no other blocking at the firewall level

Are you able to create a new, blank website and access that okay or do you have the same problem?

I just did a test with a new site it works fine. What is surprising is that the site that has a problem must have been reimported recently (see this topic) and since then no change and it no longer works

I wonder if disabling plugins would yield any change? If you can’t get into the Site Shell you could navigate to the plugin folder directly in your site files and change or move the folder, and then restart Local.

I just did it the plugins folder is empty but I still have the same problem

Since new, blank sites are working for you it seems like something else specific with this site is causing an issue. You could try swapping out the theme as well to see if that changes anything. Or you could try re-importing the site manually into a new site that’s working as it should be.

Manually Import a Local Site

Thanks I will do some tests
