I already have a WordPress username, a secure password, and an admin email address to migrate my site. Local by flywheel asks me to set up a wordpress account on installation. I presume I don’t need to do that and can use my existing log in details?

Local is asking for this as it is initially setting up a new WordPress site. You can re-use the same info, but it will still be a separate user account.
If you are going to be importing a different site over the Local site, then this user will be overwritten, so you can put whatever you want into the new site screen and let the migration overwrite this setting.
