While Local Connect may remain a feature unique to certain platforms, we have been working to make migrating both into and out of Local easier for users from any host. Specifically, we recommend WP Migrate who we’ve been working with to help improve workflows with Local. Their free version WP Migrate Lite includes a simple Full Site Export function that will create a zip file that you can then drag and drop right into Local to import your site and get things started.
