'404 Not Found nginx/1.26.1’ error after Local update

Hello,

I’ve just updated my Local to a new version (Version 9.2.8+6882). And now my local websites getting a ‘404 Not Found nginx/1.26.1’ error when I start them.

It is the second time this happens to me when I update Local (and guess what, I’ve only updated twice in total..)

Within Local, when I click on my site, the WordPress version keeps loading. Also, looks like some folders are deleted (only app and logs are shown)

It’s very frustrating to dig into these errors and losing progress because files are suddenly deleted.. What might be the issue here, and how to fix this? Also, how to prevent this in the future, am I doing something wrong?

I’m so confused.. So I just created a new local website, and after doing that, one of my existing websites worked again. I then also copied the public folder in my new website, and pasted it into another existing website, now both existing websites seems to work again..

Seems like the existing website that was solved automatically, still holds all my saved settings, plugins, media files, etc.. But give an error (I’m able to start the website though):

While the one I copy-pasted a new public folder myself doesn’t, so all files and settings were reset here due to a fresh public folder

Hey @cormadev!

Checking through some common culprits here that might be contributing to your troubles:

Does your device have plenty of disk space available for Local to write to?

Is there anything unique about your network connection? A VPN, office network, proxy, etc?

Have you run through our Windows guide below? I know it was shared on your previous post, but it wasn’t clear if you had checked it. There could be some permissions issues problems or other conflicts on your device worth reviewing.
