Working on localwp websites from another computer on the same Local Area Network.
I have 2 computers:
Macbook pro
Desktop computer
I started to build a website on the Macbook but in some point I wanted to continue the work on my Desktop PC.
Both computers on the same Local Network, connected to the same Router and share the same IP Address.
With XAMPP it was possible by using port number, so if I can access the port number for a specific website I maybe can access the website by typing the macbook ip address.
NOTE: In my case I still turn on the LocalWP software and the website on my Macbook, So I only want to access the website by typing the url.
System Details
Local Version:
Version 8.3.1+6650
Operating System (OS) and OS version:
Apple M1 Pro 14.3.1 (23D60)
What you’re after would be a bit more of a manual process with Local. Probably the easiest workaround would be to download Local on both machines, and then utilize our Cloud Backups add-on to back it up from one machine, and pull it down on the other one. Each time you use another machine it would require you to pull down a fresh copy and then upload a backup once you’re done. We have some feature requests for something more like what you’re after here if you want to upvote, comment and follow along!
