After Update failure site will not open

I attempted to install 9.0.4 and all went well initially. Update download went well but once the install began I got a notice that “Local cannot be closed. Please close it manually and click Retry to continue.” Clicking retry does not work and the only Local open is the dialog box so shutting it down stops the installation. I also cannot open the site I have been working on. I get this error notice in the uploaded screen shot.

I am running Local Version 9.0.3+6684 on Windows 11 Pro version 10.022000 Build 22000.
The computer is a Ryzen 7.

One other thing that seemed odd but might not be related is when I start Local and the box for the update opens it is en empty white box until it is clicked on, then the text appears.

If you create a new, blank site in Local can you access that okay? If you can, then you may want to try reimporting the site getting the errors. The steps would look like this:

  • Locate the site files on your machine, and save a copy of them to your desktop. If you click Go to Site Folder under your site name it should take you right to where they are located.
  • Once you have those copied, completely delete the site from Local
  • Restart Local/your machine
  • Reimport the site back into Local. You can refer here on how to Restore from only Local site files

Hi @Joe - If you’re still having trouble one of our Devs was able to test and resolve this by opening their Windows Task Manager and killing MySQL if you’d like to give that a try!
