After Update Today, Stuck on "Starting Local Machine..."

I just ran the update and upon restarting Local, S=its stuck on “Starting Local Machine…”

I have a ton of work to do today and can’t do any of it until this is resolved! I’ve tried restarting everything, manually starting Local in VIrtualBox. NOthing works.

I’m on a MacBook Pro with latest everything.


I’ve also tried going back to 2.0.7 which I found here: Local by Flywheel 2.0.7 (Pre-Release)

That didn’t fix it. Still unable to Start the Local Machine.

I quit Local, reset the Local Machine then launched again. I then got prompted to Upgrade the Local Image. Now it works! If this helps anyone else, great. If I shouldn’t have done this… please chime in support!


I’ve had heaps of problems over the last few days. I had the same issue as you, now it is starting but fails regularly.

How did you reset the local machine?

In VIrtualBox, I right-clicked the local-by-flywheel machine and selected reset.
